You'll gain excellent preparation to capitalize on emerging opportunities in evolving social, technological, and business landscapes.

Sociology as a discipline encompasses four primary thematic areas. When pursuing a BA with Sociology as your major, you can explore these interconnected domains through courses aligned with your interests. Cultural sociology examines how cultural expressions influence and are influenced by societies, including visual culture and media representations. Applied sociology and social policy investigates institutional and community responses to social challenges like healthcare and wellbeing. Power and resistance analyzes societal structures governing human behavior and their constant renegotiation, particularly regarding sexuality, reproduction, and personal relationships. Comparative and global sociology facilitates cross-cultural examinations across geographical and historical contexts, from Pacific regional organizations to diverse cultural perspectives on mortality.
