This combination equips you with vital competencies to navigate and succeed in our rapidly evolving global economy. Your acquired expertise will prove valuable across numerous professional fields and work environments. Typically spanning four years, this program lets you select one or two majors for the BA portion while enrolling in four to five BA courses annually. Additionally, you may opt for up to two modules. The BCom segment begins with seven mandatory Stage I courses before specializing in your chosen major(s). Pursuing a BABCom conjoint cultivates versatile career skills including enhanced communication, critical analysis, research proficiency, problem-solving, adaptability, and multicultural awareness. This foundation prepares you to capitalize on emerging opportunities across evolving business landscapes, technological advancements, and societal shifts.

Communication studies explore an interdisciplinary realm encompassing verbal/nonverbal exchanges, media content, audience dynamics, and digital innovations. Through this specialization, you'll develop sophisticated understanding of contemporary media systems and their societal impacts. The curriculum offers specialized training in multiple communication domains including professional writing, journalism, digital media, visual communication, and social media strategies. You'll examine audience behaviors, technological influences, cultural trends, corporate communications, and marketing practices. The program also investigates media's intersections with political systems, gender studies, and Māori perspectives. Students can concentrate their studies within three key pathways: business/marketing communications, media studies, or science communication.
