The Master of Creative Practice empowers graphic designers, contemporary artists, photographers, product designers, animators, game developers, performing artists, UX specialists, directors, actors, dancers, filmmakers, costume and technical artists, producers, and digital creators to pursue independent and collaborative learning in both studio and classroom settings. This program encourages you to critically examine concepts, discover innovative professional approaches, and enhance your research and creative skills at an advanced level within your chosen field.
This 180-credit program offers immersion in a vibrant community spanning diverse creative disciplines such as dance, theater, film, digital media, animation, raranga (Māori weaving), visual arts, crafts, costume design, graphic design, product design, experience design, game development, and service design. Engage in groundbreaking projects within our creative studios while learning from accomplished arts and design professionals.
You must have completed at least one of the following:
A recognised Bachelor’s degree in the same or similar discipline, with merit achievement deemed to be an average grade of B- or higher in all Level 7 courses; or
A professional qualifications in a relevant discipline, recognized as being equivalent to merit achievement in a bachelor degree.
English Language Requirements: IELTS test: Academic score of 6.5 with no band score lower than 6. TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 79 (with a writing score of 21); PTE (Academic) score of 58 with no band score lower than 50; Cambridge English Qualifications: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of 176. No less than 169 in each skill. OET: Minimum of Grade C+ or 300 in all sub-tests. NZCEL - Level 5. Language Cert - C1 Expert International ESOL Written (LRW) HIGH PASS with no less than 25/50 in each skill and Spoken (S) PASS, or C2 Mastery International ESOL Written (LRW) PASS with no less than 25/50 in each skill and Spoken (S) PASS.
