Unitec's Acting program offers a distinctive educational experience unmatched in New Zealand. We take pride in our interdisciplinary setting and diverse performing and screen arts training available on campus. This vibrant learning environment fosters close collaboration with students from various disciplines while developing expertise across multiple formats, mediums, and settings.
Our approach is grounded in Mātauranga Māori and the principles of our Te Noho Kotahitanga partnership. The connections we build across disciplines are strengthened through shared marae stays and whānau gatherings. Māori performing arts education forms an integral part of our curriculum. Collaborating with Māori creatives (writers, directors, etc.) enriches this foundation for both staff and students in our work. We're privileged to have the stunning Te Noho Kotahitanga Marae and Maia center on campus, providing invaluable support for our practice.
