Property developers strategize and execute the acquisition, enhancement, and marketing of both new and existing real estate. The Bachelor of Construction (Property Development) provides comprehensive knowledge about the property development lifecycle—from initial planning to final execution and sale. You'll explore property valuation, financing, and portfolio management, while learning to recognize and capitalize on development opportunities. The program covers construction methods, procurement processes, property and contract law, sustainable design principles, and design coordination. Graduates can leverage their expertise in real estate investment to collaborate with property management firms, financial institutions, and corporations, focusing on either commercial projects or residential developments. The curriculum offers a solid foundation in construction industry fundamentals, culminating in a capstone research project that combines academic learning with hands-on application. Instruction comes from faculty with extensive construction sector experience, supplemented by guest lectures from industry leaders. The program features shared foundational coursework—during the first three semesters, all students complete core Bachelor of Construction requirements before selecting a specialization in Property Development, Construction Economics, or Construction Management. This structure ensures broad industry exposure before specialization. Dual major option: Students can pursue two specializations with additional coursework, choosing among Construction Management, Property Development, and Construction Economics concentrations.
