This prestigious program focuses on hands-on learning and solving real-world challenges. You'll cultivate expertise in sports, fitness, and wellness while enhancing your communication abilities, academic writing, and project coordination skills. Additionally, you'll participate in community initiatives and gain valuable professional experience in your selected specialization to strengthen your understanding.
First-year subjects cover Bioscience; Sports Fundamentals; Exercise Basics; and Health Principles, along with your initial community engagement project. In year two, you'll select from specialized tracks like Advanced Sports, Advanced Exercise, Advanced Health or Advanced Massage, while undertaking another community initiative. Your final year will be dedicated to your capstone community project.
For those pursuing massage and health pathways, you'll first earn the New Zealand Diploma in Wellness and Relaxation Massage before progressing to this program's second year. Graduates will qualify for registration with Massage New Zealand (MNZ) as rehabilitation-focused massage therapy specialists.
