Discover Maori traditions, community, and te reo Maori. This Graduate Diploma in Arts provides the equivalent of an undergraduate specialization in Maori studies without requiring a second bachelor's degree. The Massey Graduate Diploma in Arts (Maori Knowledge) serves as a pathway for graduates from other disciplines to gain expertise comparable to a major in Maori Knowledge. Grasping Maori language and cultural practices is fundamental to influencing New Zealand's social, political, and economic future. Through the GradDipArts (Maori Knowledge), you'll examine how Maori traditions and wisdom both flourish and face challenges in contemporary society, while exploring matters of equity and social justice. Massey's program explores diverse research fields such as Maori policy and development, Te Tiriti o Waitangi governance, Maori wellbeing, and indigenous politics. Additional study topics encompass Maori creative arts and Aotearoa's cultural legacy, collectively offering comprehensive insight into Maori society and heritage.
To enter the Graduate Diploma in Arts (Maori Knowledge) you will have been awarded or qualified for a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
You will need to provide copies of all official academic transcripts for studies taken at all universities other than Massey University.
