Zoology is the scientific study of animals in their natural habitats. This discipline investigates creatures across multiple dimensions, ranging from microscopic biological processes to their roles within larger ecosystems. The field also encompasses behavioral research. As one of New Zealand's few institutions providing dedicated zoology studies, our program stands out. Students gain expertise in terrestrial wildlife and their habitats while building comprehensive knowledge of cutting-edge genetic and physiological concepts, animal growth, anatomy, and behavioral patterns. The curriculum covers aquatic and marine environments, along with diverse specialization areas like biodiversity preservation. Massey's zoology alumni, engaged in tracking animal movements or leading conservation initiatives globally, are highly sought after in locations including Samoa, South Africa, the Netherlands, and the United States. Graduates emerge prepared to contribute their expertise worldwide.
