Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet the following (or equivalent) entry requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 60 credits at NCEA Level 2 across four subjects (15 credits per subject) including English and a science subject or physical education
    and
  • Have a minimum of 14 credits at Level 1 or higher in mathematics or pangarau on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF)
    and
  • Have a minimum of eight credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Maori, four credits of which must be in reading and four credits in writing
    or
  • Have 42 credits at NCEA Level 3 from the NZQA approved subject list including a minimum of 14 credits in each of two subjects, and a further 14 credits from no more than two additional subjects or NZQA approved domains
    or
  • Applicants who do not meet the academic requirements noted above will need to provide attested evidence through an interview demonstrating aptitude, ability to study at degree level and appropriate work or other discipline-related experience
    and
  • Have English language competence to undertake this programme, which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicant whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.0 (with no score below 5.5) or equivalent; TOEFL Paper-based test (pBT): Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE); TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 60 (with a writing score of 18); Cambridge English Examinations: B2 First, or B2 First for schools, or C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a score of 169. No less than 162 in each skill; Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42.
