The Master of Science (Research) program offers an excellent chance to develop specialized research capabilities while investigating a scientific field through a one-year thesis project.
Students learn in a supportive, academic setting with options to pursue either the general Master of Science (Research) or specialize in areas including Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Food Science, Geospatial Science, Marine Science, Microbiology, or Molecular Genetics.
The second year concentrates on thesis work (120 credits), helping students refine critical thinking abilities while mastering research techniques, data interpretation, and presentation skills. This substantial research project allows students to delve into their chosen subject with guidance from an academic supervisor.
Our faculty members are dedicated educators focused on student achievement and maintain strong international research profiles. With intentionally limited class sizes, students enjoy greater access to instructors. The program emphasizes practical learning through fieldwork and collaborative projects with industry partners, moving education beyond traditional classroom boundaries.
