Explore advertising studies and team up with peers to craft ad briefs, creating written and visual content for actual brands and clients. Advertising thrives on unconventional thinking and crafting impactful brand campaigns. Beginning with a blank slate, you'll refine concepts into standout ideas before selecting media channels to build campaigns. AUT stands alone in New Zealand as the sole university offering specialized degree-level training in advertising creativity. You'll hone skills in ideation, art direction, and copywriting across print, radio, outdoor, TV, and digital platforms, while mastering creative problem-solving and persuasive communication.

Our program maintains strong industry ties, featuring guest lectures from top agencies and brands including Google, TVNZ, Spark, MediaWorks, Saatchi & Saatchi, DDB, Colenso BBDO, FCB New Zealand, and Film Construction.

Students receive direct briefs from agencies and clients, with potential media publication of completed work. Numerous students secure internships at leading agencies. Upon graduation, you'll possess a professional portfolio ready for roles like copywriter, art director, or other agency positions.
