Migration has become a worldwide occurrence of tremendous significance, particularly due to its dramatic growth in recent years, standing as one of the most urgent and multifaceted challenges of our time. The University of Limerick's MA in Migration Studies provides a distinctive interdisciplinary curriculum, incorporating subjects from literature and media studies to geography, history, healthcare, music, political science, sociology, legal studies, and psychology. Available through both on-campus and hybrid learning formats, this program enables students to develop comprehensive knowledge about various migration dimensions, including its drivers, consequences, and societal, cultural, economic, and personal implications. Additionally, students can acquire practical experience with contemporary migration matters through the program's optional internship component.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants must have a primary degree in any discipline (2.2 honours or higher at Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland). Applicants who do not have a primary degree can apply to be considered through RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning). Applicants whose first language is not English must satisfy University English Language requirements. Applicants must have a high standard of written English. Applicants will be required to submit a personal statement outlining their reasons for applying as part of the application process. Applicants may be required to attend/ participate in interviews to determine their suitability for the programme.
