This Master of Science (MSc) program equips you with both theoretical foundations and hands-on skills to launch your professional journey. The MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis, founded in 2006 within the School of Psychology, addresses the growing need for specialists in behavioral psychology. This intensive two-year full-time course accepts 20 students yearly and stands as one of only two such programs in Ireland.
Participants will explore behavior analysis principles and their practical implementation to enhance learning and life quality across diverse populations - from individuals with developmental disabilities to students facing educational challenges, older adults, and those recovering from brain injuries. The program's curriculum mirrors ABA science's wide-ranging uses, as evidenced by graduates' varied career trajectories.
The program includes clinically-affiliated placements where students translate theory into practice under expert supervision at various Irish institutions. Students benefit from close guidance by both faculty and practicing Behavior Analysts. The program maintains strong community partnerships with schools and service providers to ensure high-quality supervised training. Over two years, the curriculum consistently connects academic content with real-world applications, equipping graduates with essential practical skills for professional Behavior Analyst roles.
Career Pathways
Graduates emerge prepared for careers as Behavioral Psychologists/Analysts, with excellent prospects for employment, research, and advanced study. Following the scientist-practitioner approach, the program delivers comprehensive training across academic, practical, and research dimensions of behavioral science. The acquired behavioral psychology competencies enable graduates to pursue both independent and collaborative professional objectives worldwide.
