The Master of Arts in Writing is a 12-month, intensive program exploring diverse literary styles and formats, while connecting with our complementary postgraduate studies in publishing, literature, and theater. This program leverages our expertise in teaching writing across multiple platforms including print, performance, film, news media, and digital formats. We encourage applications from all academic disciplines (both within and outside the Arts) and support varied writing aspirations. A Qualifier pathway exists for candidates without formal degrees but possessing relevant publishing credits or professional creative experience.
Our weekly Writers Seminar hosts established authors, publishing professionals, literary agents, and other industry guests. The program culminates with participation in Galway's Cirt literary festival during April, where students engage with events and complete associated evaluations.
