This program is tailored for language enthusiasts seeking careers in linguistic fields.
Our unique language degree offers dual-language study, with an option to add a beginner-level language in Year 1. The curriculum integrates Linguistics, Translation Studies, and Media throughout all stages. Undergraduate students benefit from small, native-led classes that foster exceptional language proficiency. The program includes analysis of literary works and cultural artifacts in target languages, with optional introductory Chinese courses and Latin modules available.
The four-year course includes a compulsory study abroad year, usually at partner universities. Dual-language students will experience full immersion in each language environment for one semester.

Minimum of Grade H5 in two subjects and a minimum of a H4 in a modern European language other than Irish and English and a passes in three other subjects at 06/H7 in the Leaving Certificate, including English.
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
