As societal attention increasingly centers on health, including workplace well-being, the Centre for Safety and Health at Work (CSHW) addresses industry demands through hybrid digital platforms and adaptable educational initiatives that tackle current critical topics.

This full-time MSc in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) specifically targets experienced graduates in the field who haven't yet obtained an advanced qualification. Upon completion, you'll gain expertise in creating and executing health and safety management systems tailored to your professional domain, along with enhanced academic writing capabilities, self-direction abilities, and research competencies.

The full-time MSc in OSH spans one academic year (September to July). Classes occur weekdays, with 90 credits distributed across three semesters.
Provisional orientation dates for the 2024/25 cohort are set for September 6, 2024.
The curriculum explores diverse interdisciplinary subjects pertinent to OSH, including Workplace Legislation, Occupational Medicine, Industrial Hygiene, Organizational Psychology, Safety Management Systems, and Technical Safety.
Evaluation methods incorporate ongoing assessments, coursework, research projects, and a final thesis.
Dissertation guidance occurs outside regular program hours.

Qualification Requirements

You should normally be an honours graduate 2-1 or above of an Irish level 8 degree or international equivalent in a cognate discipline
You should normally have at least three years work experience at the time of application
You should ideally have OSH work experience
Priority is given to applicants who are active in Occupational Safety and Health
You will be required to supply transcripts of your primary degree and the supporting documents at the time of your application
Applications will be assessed on a casebycase basis and relevant work experience will be taken into account so that in certain cases an award at a 2-2 classification or international equivalent may be considered

The minimum requirement for the Duolingo Test will be a DET score of 130 with at least 120 in each subscore

IELTS International English Language Testing System Academic Minimum Overall Band Score of 7.5 with a result NOT LESS than 7.0 in EACH of the individual sections

TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet Based Test Minimum total score of 110 with a score NOT LESS than 22 in Reading and Listening NOT LESS than 26 in Speaking and NOT LESS than 24 in the test of written English
