Horticulture encompasses the scientific, technological, artistic, and commercial aspects of plant cultivation to enhance quality of life. Professionals in this field develop worldwide solutions for producing safe, nutritious food while creating healing and aesthetically pleasing environments.

The MSc Horticulture program serves recent graduates pursuing careers in the international horticultural production and supply sector. Tailored for those seeking advanced horticultural knowledge, as well as experienced professionals transitioning careers, it leverages the academic resources of UCD's School of Agriculture and Food Science.

Modern horticultural supply chains operate through worldwide networks of growers, distributors, and vendors. Although labor remains a major expense for horticultural operations, technological advancements and improved logistics are transforming traditionally labor-intensive business models.

As market pressures drive cost reduction needs, tomorrow's horticultural enterprises will demand highly trained professionals capable of applying scientific principles and implementing cutting-edge technologies to deliver sustainable, globally competitive products and services.
