Our innovative Master's program combines Irish roots with global impact, offering students the chance to collaborate with internationally renowned scholars across ethnomusicology, historical musicology, and composition. The curriculum begins with foundational courses in these fields, then progresses to specialized case studies drawn from our faculty's research expertise. While Irish musical traditions form a significant component - featuring modules like 'Irish Music in Film' and 'Contemporary Irish Popular Music' - the program maintains a broad international perspective.

This degree equips students with essential research skills for musicology or composition while fostering specialized knowledge and independent academic work. Participants join a vibrant research community with regular guest lectures. Many graduates pursue PhD studies with faculty guidance on research proposals and funding applications, while others enter diverse fields including arts administration, cultural heritage, media, education, and beyond.
