European Studies offers a dynamic and thought-provoking new UCD BA Humanities program starting in 2021, delivered by top Irish scholars. With its cross-border and multidisciplinary approach, the curriculum encourages comprehensive investigation of Europe's diverse cultural and historical heritage. Students will gain essential competencies in research, communication, and language proficiency.
This program explores Europe's importance through historical, linguistic, literary, and cultural lenses, emphasizing transformative developments like migration, conflict, and unification. Participants specialize in one language - French, German, Italian, or Spanish - enhancing their linguistic abilities while spending a trimester abroad at a European partner institution during their third year.

International A Level - At least three subjects at A Level Grade C or better and Grade C or better in the remaining subjects at GCSE a total of six distinct subjects required.
