A pharmacist serves as a vital member of the healthcare team, specializing in medications and pharmaceutical care. UCC's Pharmacy program equips students with the expertise, practical skills, and theoretical understanding to excel in the pharmaceutical field.
This five-year degree program focuses on four core disciplines: pharmaceutical chemistry, drug formulation, pharmacology, and professional pharmacy practice. The curriculum blends scientific foundations with hands-on training, including mandatory work placements that may be compensated or unpaid.
UCC's School of Pharmacy boasts cutting-edge facilities for delivering world-class pharmaceutical education. The department features specialized labs, modern classrooms, a simulated pharmacy, and employs advanced technology for OTC consultation training through interactive case studies covering various medical conditions.
Applications will normally be considered from applicants whose qualifications are equivalent to a UCC Bachelor (Hons) degree and whose grades are equivalent to a UCC First-Class Honours Grade 1 or Second-Class Honours Grade 2 as appropriate. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
