Our MSc Finance (Corporate Finance) program at UCC aims to equip graduates with the expertise to make an immediate impact in the corporate finance sector. Throughout this program, you'll hone your analytical abilities and professional competencies, culminating in either a corporate finance research project or a practical industry internship. Developed in collaboration with industry experts, our curriculum directly addresses the skill requirements sought by employers in corporate finance. Graduates of this program enjoy outstanding career opportunities in business advisory services, consulting firms, corporate investment banking, and venture capital organizations. The Professional Development module enhances students' industry-specific capabilities, covering everything from effective presentation techniques to advanced Excel proficiency. Team collaboration is emphasized throughout, with multiple modules incorporating group projects and assessments. During the final semester, students can choose between undertaking a corporate finance research project under faculty guidance or pursuing a competitive internship placement, which involves employer interviews. The internship option provides valuable hands-on experience to help students make well-informed career decisions.
This program serves as excellent preparation for roles in investment banking, major corporations, and business advisory services. Alumni also pursue successful careers in regulatory bodies, venture capital firms, and management consulting.

Applicants must normally have
A second class honours grade I in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8) or equivalent in a business programme or
The expectation of graduating with a second class honours grade I in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8) or equivalent in a business programme in the year of entry or
A second class honours grade I in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8) or equivalent in a cognate discipline with a quantitative element.
Applicants who achieve a second class honours grade II in a primary honours degree (NFQ, Level 8), in either a business degree or a degree in a cognate discipline with a quantitative element, will be assessed on a case by case basis under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
