Our interdisciplinary MSc in Dementia program equips healthcare professionals with comprehensive skills to deliver exceptional care for individuals with dementia throughout their journey from diagnosis to end-of-life. This course promotes a holistic biopsychosocial perspective, examining the interconnected relationships between physical health, psychological factors, and environmental influences. The curriculum mirrors this integrated approach, covering essential topics such as dementia diagnosis and evaluation, cognitive and non-cognitive therapeutic interventions, effective communication strategies, ethical care planning, evidence-based practice implementation, and analysis of policy and societal impacts on dementia care across healthcare systems. Students can choose between full-time or part-time study options, with flexible module selections that enable customization to individual professional contexts. The program features optional clinical placements and independent study opportunities, including literature reviews, clinical audits, service evaluations, quality improvement initiatives, or developing implementation strategies. Throughout the course, we emphasize critical analysis of research findings, current policy understanding, and practical application of knowledge to enhance real-world dementia care.
