The LLM in Marine and Maritime Law is delivered by University College Cork's (UCC) College of Business & Law in Ireland. This program combines Ireland's top legal specialists in Marine Law, addressing diverse legal subjects such as shipping regulations, maritime legislation, ocean environmental safeguards, and international sea law.
Students in our LLM program gain the opportunity to collaborate with Ireland's leading maritime legal experts, guided by the internationally acclaimed UCC School of Law. The LLM (Marine and Maritime Law) curriculum blends academic study with hands-on application, connecting legal coursework with Cork's vibrant maritime sector - including ocean conservation studies, renewable marine energy initiatives, maritime policing, fisheries governance, and port operations. Designed with adaptable scheduling, this program accommodates both legal graduates and industry professionals.
Whether you hold a law degree or work in marine/maritime fields, this course offers comprehensive theoretical understanding and practical examination of Marine and Maritime Law principles.
Applicants must be approved by the School of Law. They must normally hold a Second Class Honours Grade I in a primary honours Law degree (NFQ Level 8). Applicants with other third-level qualifications and/or relevant professional experience are also encouraged to apply.
Applications from overseas candidates are welcome, and their qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
