The field of Data Science & Analytics explores innovative methods for gathering and analyzing information from our environment. This discipline empowers us to make more informed choices that benefit individuals, society, and businesses.
UCC's BSc program in Data Science & Analytics delivers comprehensive training in data management, processing, and analysis through mathematical and computational approaches, equipping students to address challenging practical issues. The initial two years establish the mathematical and programming groundwork for data science. The third year focuses on implementing these core principles to actual scenarios and datasets.
During Spring of the third year, students complete a six-month professional placement (typically compensated), allowing them to utilize their acquired skills in a real-world work setting.
The final year offers specialized course options and includes an individual research project, providing students the chance to explore more practical aspects of the field in depth.
