The BCL (Law and Business) is a dual-degree program that integrates the complementary fields of law and business studies. This dynamic four-year course:
examines the interplay between legal frameworks and business operations, covering aspects like corporate structures, financial systems, and commercial regulations
utilizes core legal and business analytical methods to assess factors influencing corporate and sector performance in international markets
For the initial three years, students balance their coursework equally between law and business subjects. Legal studies encompass contract law, commercial legislation, and corporate law, while business components include accounting, management information systems, economic theory, organizational management, and market strategy.
The final year offers specialization opportunities in either law or business, with more than 40 elective modules available.
The curriculum emphasizes developing versatile professional competencies, featuring mandatory courses in academic research, professional writing, and communication skills that incorporate collaborative projects and presentation training.
Upon graduating, students will have acquired the ability to:

Apply theoretical models and methodologies in workplace environments,
Display critical thinking and solution-oriented skills relevant to professional practice
Non-EU applicants are expected to have educational qualifications of a standard equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate
Duolingo English Test (DET): DET 120 with a minimum score of 110 in each individual section
IELTS - International English Language Testing System/ IELTS Indicator Test: Minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language - TOEFL iBT/TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition Test: Minimum overall score of 90 and minimum of 20 in each section
University of Cambridge: 176+ on the Cambridge English scale with no less than 169 in each skill and use of English i.e.
Proficiency Certificate, Grade C or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2) Advanced Certificate, Grade C or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2) First Certificate, Grade A (CEFR Level C1)
Pearson PTE Academic: Minimum of 63 (with at least 59 for each item in the Communicative Skills section)
