Medical progress is fundamentally driven by scientific exploration and breakthroughs. The Biomedical Sciences curriculum immerses students in cutting-edge research areas through five specialized pathways: Molecular Medicine, Neuroscience, Translational Oncology, Healthcare Infection, and Immunology.
Participants engage with groundbreaking studies that deepen their comprehension of disease processes at the molecular level.
This program equips students with comprehensive knowledge of disease biology and sophisticated molecular pathways, current therapeutic approaches for disease control, essential research methodologies in biomedical sciences, hands-on laboratory competencies, problem-solving abilities, and specialized technical expertise to pursue careers in research or related fields.
Admission to this course is restricted to undergraduate students on year 3 (and occasionally year 4) in the School of Medicine in Trinity College Dublin. At this point, students will have qualified for a B.A. which is normally awarded when the students are conferred with their final M.B. The intercalated Masters will also be conferred at this point. The course is coordinated through the Department of Clinical Medicine, TCD, St James Hospital Dublin. When completing the TCD online Application please ensure referees are TCD academics.
