The Master of Science in Engineering offers graduate engineers focused expertise in one of these specializations:
Environmental Engineering.
Structural and Geotechnical Engineering.
Transportation Engineering.
Sustainable Energy Engineering.

This Level-9 postgraduate program (NFQ) can be completed in one year full-time or two years part-time.

Full-time students enroll in three mandatory courses and four optional/general courses (with a minimum of two from their chosen specialization) during the first term. The second term involves one core course and four electives (again including at least two specialization courses).

The part-time option spans two years. First-year part-time students complete eight courses: three required courses and five electives (with at least two from their specialization). In the second year, they take one core course and three electives (including a minimum of two specialization courses).

Qualification Requirements

The minimum entry criteria is an upper second-class Honours degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering or related degree. Relevant industrial experience may be taken into account in allocating places, where the course is oversubscribed.
