The School boasts more than 200 graduate researchers working toward MSc, PhD, or MD qualifications.
Academic investigations in the School of Medicine concentrate on six primary themes: Cancer, Genetics, Infection and Immunity, Molecular Medicine, Neurosciences, and Population Health.
Studies are carried out across our affiliated teaching hospitals such as St James's, the Trinity Centre at Tallaght University Hospital, and St Patrick's. A key priority lies in Translational Research, where scientific breakthroughs from laboratories progress into clinical applications to improve patient outcomes. The Trinity Translational Medicine Institute, located at St James's, serves as a hub for this research approach. Cutting-edge facilities on Trinity's main campus, including the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute and Trinity College Institute for Neuroscience, also support these research endeavors.
