Physics explores the fundamental principles governing our universe, examining how they operate across various scales - from the macroscopic world we experience daily to the quantum realm of atoms, subatomic particles, and electromagnetic phenomena in different environments. It investigates complex emergent behaviors and cosmic phenomena across astronomical distances. This discipline encompasses these diverse domains and extends even further.
The School of Physics maintains robust academic and research collaborations with other Trinity departments and external institutions. Faculty members lead research teams with particular expertise in areas including optical technologies, magnetic materials, nanoscale science, sustainable energy solutions, advanced imaging techniques, quantum physics, computational methods, foam physics, and space science. From their first day, students are nurtured to think like physicists, developing keen observational and analytical skills. Their physics education reaches its peak with the final-year Capstone research project, where each student conducts independent investigation. The program balances hands-on experimental work with developing profound conceptual understanding of physics-based problem-solving approaches.
