Psychology covers a wide range of disciplines focused on understanding human cognition, actions, growth, personality traits, emotional responses, drives, and how these evolve throughout life and within social contexts.
Applied Psychology specifically examines how psychological principles can be practically implemented in daily life. This involves working with educational systems, healthcare, criminal justice, advocacy work, therapy, mental wellness, and conducting research to validate our knowledge in these fields.
Our dynamic 4-year honors program in Applied Psychology lets students explore psychological theories alongside social structures, political activism, criminal behavior, research methodologies, and various psychological domains including social, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and neuropsychology. A key feature includes weekly personal development sessions that provide structured opportunities for students to reflect on how their studies affect them personally.
Applied Psychology appeals to those pursuing careers focused on helping individuals, teams, or institutions reach their objectives. The degree offers diverse applications, from analyzing consumer patterns to enhancing sports performance and educational outcomes. This undergraduate program serves as a prerequisite for advanced psychology training, requiring PSI accreditation for postgraduate qualifications. TUS Midwest is currently seeking PSI accreditation for this program.
