This specialized Postgraduate Diploma in Contaminated Land Management and Remediation addresses the growing need from both industry and regulatory bodies to rehabilitate polluted land and water systems while complying with environmental standards. The program concentrates on field assessments, contaminant detection, risk evaluation, and cleanup methodologies. Our faculty brings extensive professional and academic expertise to the classroom. The curriculum incorporates practical field trips and current case examples to illustrate key concepts, supplemented by regular guest lectures from environmental remediation experts.
Through hands-on workshops, collaborative learning sessions, practical demonstrations, and site inspections, participants will acquire the necessary competencies to transform degraded environments into revitalized ecosystems. Applicants require a second class honours degree or higher, or an equivalent in a science, business or management subject. Other applicants will be considered on an individual basis in accordance with the University policy on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). SETU Carlow reserves the right to require applicants to attend for an interview to determine their suitability for the programme.
