Forestry involves the scientific management of woodlands as a vital ecological asset. Woodlands serve crucial environmental functions, supply lumber and various materials, and offer diverse recreational opportunities. Forestry professionals oversee forest resources to ensure sustainable utilization for society. Their responsibilities include assisting landowners with afforestation, maintaining mature woodlands, and coordinating timber production with processing facilities. The three-year Bachelor of Science in Forestry program equips students with the expertise needed for professional woodland stewardship. This Society of Irish Foresters-accredited qualification enables graduates to register as certified forestry practitioners with the Forest Service.
