Wildlife Biology explores natural ecosystems, their inhabitants, and how they coexist. This distinctive MTU program, Ireland's only one of its kind, equips students for diverse careers (laboratory, fieldwork, and office positions) in research, biodiversity preservation, and land management. Located in Kerry's breathtaking, nature-filled landscapes, the course draws learners from throughout Ireland, Europe, and worldwide.
The initial two years align with MT 680's Higher Certificate in Biological and Environmental Studies. Subjects like Zoology, Botany, Ecology, and second-year Microbiology deliver comprehensive knowledge about organisms.
Outdoor training components teach essential wilderness safety and navigation skills, including earning a Remote Emergency Care certification.
Featuring weekly excursions across Kerry's varied water, mountain, and isolated ecosystems, participants should maintain good physical condition and be ready for challenging weather and uneven landscapes.
