The Coaching and Sports Performance program focuses on equipping students with evidence-backed knowledge and practical skills to guide physical activities, coach individual athletes and teams, and oversee sports management. Graduates will gain expertise in creating and directing strength and conditioning regimens, as well as performance training initiatives.
They will also learn to provide safe, context-appropriate nutritional guidance for performance, utilize sports psychology principles effectively, and implement recovery techniques for injury management and optimal athletic performance.
A key feature of the program is its emphasis on hands-on learning, with students participating in independent projects, workshops, group discussions, leadership exercises, and direct engagement with clients—both individually and in groups—to enhance real-world readiness.
Many students actively contribute to the University's sports teams and participate in clubs and volunteer work. The department is widely recognized for its leadership in shaping national standards and policies in health, fitness, and leisure education.
