This program focuses strongly on professional development. You'll cultivate creative abilities, technical expertise, and analytical thinking essential for careers in photography, videography, and media. The curriculum covers both conventional and cutting-edge photographic equipment, video tools, and media technologies, with hands-on experience using state-of-the-art lens-based software and hardware.

In your third year, you'll complete an intensive 13-week work placement that provides real-world insight into the photography industry. This experience equips you to become a proficient creator of both still and motion imagery. The placement offers direct exposure to professional workflows and processes in photography and video environments, whether local, national, or international. It enables students to see how theoretical knowledge and practical skills from the program translate to workplace situations. Throughout the placement, you'll receive guidance from both an MTU academic supervisor and an industry mentor.
