The program's goal is to offer a systematic doctoral curriculum in New Ireland for individuals pursuing in-depth study within specific fields. This initiative focuses on developing transferable competencies. Within this structured doctoral framework, participants must fulfill coursework totaling 30 credits alongside a significant research endeavor supervised by faculty. Supervision opportunities exist in specialized research domains - Doctoral candidates in Artistic Research must accomplish two components: (1) a written dissertation of approximately 40,000 words (incorporating scholarly investigation and/or critical analysis of creative work) (2) a practical artistic research initiative, which could involve musical composition, theatrical production, film project, literary work, traditional/contemporary arts endeavor, choreographic piece, community arts initiative, or other creative undertaking connected to Irish or Gaeltacht cultural expressions.
