The Master's program in Peacebuilding, Security, and Development Practice delivers an enriching educational journey for professionals aiming to engage in development and peacebuilding within conflict or post-conflict environments. By combining negotiation techniques with an examination of broader conflict and development challenges, it equips students with essential perspectives on international conflict resolution approaches. The curriculum covers foundational theories, methodologies, and applications—from managing resource disputes and employing negotiation tactics amid climate change impacts to understanding how governments, corporations, and civil society contribute to inclusive peace initiatives. Key themes include gender dynamics in conflict, racial justice, human rights, and security threats stemming from economic inequality, exploitation, and worldwide financial instability. Incorporating principles from peace education, human security, and grassroots development, the program critiques externally imposed resolutions while investigating the complexities of community-driven transformation. It synthesizes lessons from various conflict zones and development scenarios, alongside diverse viewpoints on peace and security. Participants emerge with the expertise, awareness, and competencies required to assume leadership positions in peacebuilding, security, and development across multiple contexts.
