This program combines hands-on engineering with academic foundations. It delivers comprehensive engineering education accredited by Engineers Ireland, while also incorporating significant focus on climate and sustainability topics. If you're passionate about environmental concerns but want to graduate as a mechanical engineer with specialized sustainability knowledge, this program is ideal for you.
As a participant, you'll employ innovative technologies through immersive, challenge-focused education. You'll gain substantial practical experience constructing mechanical systems in DCU's state-of-the-art engineering facilities. The curriculum includes optional language studies and potential international study opportunities. Every student undertakes an INTRA work placement during their third year.
Industry collaborators actively contribute to curriculum design and participate through mentoring, workshops, challenge-based activities, and other program elements. They're also eager to showcase the diverse career paths available for sustainability-focused mechanical engineering graduates

GCE A LEVELS
General Certificate in Education qualifications must meet one of the following requirements, in addition to any specific programme requirements.
- 2 GCE A Levels at Grade C plus 4 GCE O levels at Grade C, which must include the subjects Mathematics and English.
- 2 GCE A Levels at Grade C, plus 2 GCE AS Level at Grade C, plus 2 GCE O Levels at Grade C, which must include the subjects Mathematics and English.
- 2 GCE A Levels at Grade C, plus 1 GCE AS Level at Grade C, plus 3 GCE O Levels at Grade C, which must include the subjects Mathematics and English.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or have an equivalent qualification.
