Have you ever wondered how chemistry shapes our world, from natural processes to the creation and application of everyday materials like polymers, medicines, specialty chemicals, and scents? If so, and if you're a driven, self-motivated student ready to explore chemistry's diverse fields, this program is designed for you. It combines rigorous academic content with extensive hands-on training, giving you a competitive edge for careers or advanced studies. You'll master core concepts in organic, inorganic, physical, medicinal, and analytical chemistry while developing practical laboratory expertise and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge. The curriculum also enhances creativity, innovation, and communication skills. In your third year, you'll complete a four- to six-month INTRA internship in industrial or academic settings, either in Ireland or abroad. This invaluable experience helps you acquire new competencies and establish professional connections that often lead to job offers after graduation. As a graduate, you'll be highly valued in industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, materials science, food production, and government research. Career paths include process development, synthetic chemistry, quality assurance, analytical research, and medicinal chemistry. Some graduates pursue teaching or patent law, while others continue their education with master's or doctoral programs.
