The MA and PhD programs in Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies focus on our shared passion for examining performance through cultural and political lenses. Our curriculum investigates both staged performances and everyday behaviors to uncover their cultural significance, political implications, material conditions, and ideological foundations throughout history. By analyzing diverse performance contexts – from traditional theaters to public spaces, media platforms to political stages, ceremonial practices to personal encounters – we reveal how performance can offer insightful commentary on societal issues and inspire meaningful civic engagement.
