Computer Science spans diverse fields like virtual reality, AI, robotics, network databases, and vision systems, contributing significantly to addressing global challenges. This program combines core principles with hands-on skills to investigate fascinating areas such as computer vision and data mining. You'll master techniques for achieving precise, efficient computations. The BA option integrates liberal arts with computer science, while the BSc incorporates science disciplines like physics, chemistry, and biology. For global exposure, consider the iBA, iBSc, or dual-degree paths, which include international study components. Additionally, you can enrich your education through co-op placements or industry internships.
An optional co-application is available for this program and is highly encouraged. Co-op opportunities open up to all Computer Science students following their second year, with no separate application needed.
Three International Honours options exist: iBA, iBSc, or the Dual Specialized degree. The iBA and iBSc incorporate study abroad experiences with cultural and language courses from your host institution. The International Dual Degree awards qualifications from both York University and Germany's Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University, with thesis completion at Greece's University of Crete.
