The Social & Political Thought Graduate Program provides both MA and PhD degree options. This interdisciplinary program fosters independent research and cross-disciplinary exploration.

SPTH grants MA and PhD degrees through collaboration with various university departments, organizing its curriculum around three adaptable study concentrations:

Historical Perspectives on Social and Political Theory
Black Studies and Race/Racism Theories
Economic Systems, Consciousness, Aesthetics, and Social Structures
These concentrations are designed to overlap. As part of an interdisciplinary environment, students are urged to engage with multiple areas and integrate aspects as their research requires. Through course selection, students gain comprehensive interdisciplinary understanding while focusing on their specialized topics. All participants must demonstrate strong personal initiative to craft a cohesive academic path culminating in an original MRP or doctoral thesis in Social and Political Thought. When necessary, students must attain proficiency in languages crucial to their dissertation work. This program particularly suits self-motivated scholars with varied intellectual pursuits.
