The Developmental Science program educates students in theoretical frameworks and investigative approaches concerning human growth throughout all life stages. Participants develop comprehensive expertise in developmental psychology while focusing intensively on specialized domains. These specialization options encompass cognitive functions (including attention, memory, reasoning, and executive skills), early childhood social cognition, neuropsychological approaches (utilizing techniques like fMRI, ERP, or clinical case studies), educational implementations, infant memory and visual perception development, as well as comparative developmental and evolutionary psychology.
Our investigations explore developmental phenomena from early childhood through advanced age, studying both typical and atypical groups (including primate subjects).
Faculty maintain prominent, well-supported research initiatives with global recognition. Students can engage in practical research experiences within university laboratories and external environments. Program alumni pursue careers in academic institutions and applied research settings including medical centers, educational systems, and social service organizations.
