As a York University Data Science student, you'll develop expertise in statistical methodologies, programming abilities, and data interpretation approaches that empower professionals to uncover patterns in datasets. Throughout your coursework, you'll explore the challenges of processing massive, intricate datasets through real-world examples spanning industries like commerce, healthcare, and digital platforms, culminating in a hands-on research project with industry partners.
What distinguishes our program from other Ontario Data Science offerings is our specialized tracks. Students must choose an application-focused concentration area. In addition to core curriculum in statistics, computer science, and advanced mathematics, you'll complete coursework in your chosen specialization from the following fields.
Students need to have: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD); Six 4U/4M courses, including ENG4U, NBE4U or FRA4U. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Canada.
