A Computer Security degree equips you with essential skills to launch your career as a top professional safeguarding critical systems like financial institutions, transit networks, power systems, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions - all of which depend on robust security measures. You'll gain expertise in evaluating cyber risks and addressing potential vulnerabilities in software, network infrastructure, databases, IoT technologies, and various computing environments. This curriculum empowers you to make significant contributions across multiple industry sectors.

The program features an optional but highly encouraged co-op opportunity. Available to all Computer Security majors after their sophomore year, this co-op doesn't demand an additional application process. Computer security represents a focused discipline within computer science that examines vulnerabilities in digital systems and networks, developing strategies to counteract these threats. Through this program, you'll establish strong fundamentals in computer science and mathematics while exploring diverse subjects such as cryptographic systems and OS architectures.

Students can pursue either BA or BSc degrees, both sharing identical core computer science and math coursework. BA candidates will enhance their studies with Liberal Arts electives (including humanities and social sciences), while BSc students will supplement their education with science-focused courses (such as life sciences, chemistry, and physics).
