York's applied mathematics faculty are multidisciplinary researchers active in diverse areas including public health, physics, biology, and financial systems. Our work encompasses disease prevention strategies through vaccination, climate modeling, financial derivatives analysis, cosmological expansion, battery technology advancements, atmospheric and materials science, and microbial dynamics in human digestion.
Students can pursue various undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), or specialized honours programs in Applied Mathematics. The Financial Mathematics track offers Specialized Honours BA/BSc options. An Honours Minor in Applied Mathematics is also available for BA/BSc students.
BA students may complement their studies with electives in social sciences and humanities such as economics, business administration, psychology, or philosophical studies.
BSc candidates can select science-focused electives including physics, astronomical sciences, biological sciences, or chemical studies.
