York's applied mathematics faculty are multidisciplinary researchers specializing in diverse areas including public health, physics, biology, finance, and beyond. Our work encompasses analyzing vaccination approaches for disease control, climate modeling, financial derivatives, cosmic expansion, lithium-ion battery enhancements, atmospheric and materials science, and microbial dynamics in the human digestive tract.
Students can pursue various undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), or specialized Honours programs (BA/BSc Hons, BA/BSc Spec. Hons). There's also a focused Financial Mathematics track available through Specialized Honours BA/BSc degrees. Additionally, students can complete an Honours Minor in Applied Mathematics through BABSc programs.
The BA curriculum allows elective studies in social sciences and humanities such as economics, business administration, psychology, or philosophy.
The BSc program offers science-focused electives including physics, astronomy, life sciences, or chemistry.
Students need to have: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD); Six 4U/4M courses, including ENG4U, NBE4U or FRA4U. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Canada.
