The Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE) offers a diverse range of foundational courses that showcase our comprehensive, interdisciplinary perspective on human movement, physical activity, and sports studies. Students can then customize their learning by selecting from numerous elective options and specializing in one of four concentration areas.
Core Curriculum
Sociocultural studies examining historical, philosophical, and social perspectives on physical activity, sports, and human embodiment.
Hands-on laboratory and tutorial courses covering regional anatomy, human physiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor control, and statistical analysis.
Introductory courses presenting essential principles in sports psychology, health sciences, and research methodologies.
Practical movement courses that apply theoretical knowledge to physical literacy, athlete training, and instructional techniques for sports and physical activities.
Specializations and Electives
Students can focus their studies in one of four specialized tracks: Athletic Performance and Injury Prevention, Movement Science and Development
Physical Education and Community Health Promotion, Sports Leadership and Administration

English Proficiency
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Internet-based testing (TOEFL iBT): an overall score of 83 or higher with a minimum score of 20 in each component; Paper-based testing: 560 or higher.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - An academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) - 70 overall or higher (each band 60 or higher).
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) - 59 overall or higher.
Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) - Overall score of 176.
