Laurier's Political Science program equips you with essential knowledge and practical skills in political communication, policy evaluation, legal assessment, public opinion research, and electoral analysis. Through this program, you'll develop the expertise to interpret political developments and participate in civic discourse, fostering lifelong active citizenship.
You can focus your studies on diverse subjects including global governance, international trade, Canadian government systems, comparative political systems (such as those in the U.S. and Europe), policy development, regional studies (covering Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East), migration and refugee issues, as well as political research methods.
Students must have the following:

English Proficiency
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Internet-based testing (TOEFL iBT): an overall score of 83 or higher with a minimum score of 20 in each component; Paper-based testing: 560 or higher.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - An academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) - 70 overall or higher (each band 60 or higher).
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) - 59 overall or higher.
Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) - Overall score of 176.
