Our program takes a critical perspective to uncover the fundamental connections between legal systems and social structures through practical case studies. This approach helps students grasp how laws influence everyday life while deepening their awareness of how social elements like race, gender, age, sexuality, and economic status shape legal frameworks.
The Law and Society curriculum allows students to explore how legal principles interact with key social issues including criminal justice, cultural norms, gender dynamics, family structures, activism, Indigenous rights, intellectual property laws, environmental regulations, labor rights, and economic inequality.
